The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has restored access to its mobile app and online banking platform following a service disruption on July 15.
BPI first reported the outage at 1:13 PM, when customers couldn’t really access its digital banking services. During that downtime, the bank told users to keep transacting via VYBE, BPI debit or credit cards, plus use ATMs, Cash Accept Machines (CAMs), or just go to a branch for urgent banking needs.
Then at 4:30 PM, BPI said it was still working to fix the problem, and it extended branch operating hours up to 5:30 PM, so affected customers could get help. Later on, the bank confirmed that its app and online banking services were already fully restored.
The incident follows another service disruption that affected BPI’s digital channels in June.
