Here’s a camera that will definitely catch your attention. Meet the Light L16 – point-and-shoot that packs 16 cameras in one body.
The Light L16 is a new type of camera which the company describes as a “multi-aperture computational camera.” Compared to a DSLR that uses interchangeable lenses and a single sensor, the L16 uses multiple small cameras each of them having their own sensors. For those who are counting, one of the circles is an IR sensor.
The Light L16 camera works by firing multiple cameras simultaneously then with the help of proprietary algorithms and imaging engine, combines those images to produce a single high-quality image with up to 53 megapixel resolution. Below are some of the samples:
Other features include depth-mapping technology which allows you to adjust focus and depth of field (up to f/1.2) after a photo is taken, 35-150mm true optical zoom, built-in WiFi, and on-board editing software.
The Light L16 Camera has a price tag of $1,699 (~Php78,500) and will be available in the US in 2016.
Wow 79k with that price tag you can just go ahead and buy a bridge camera or CSC (mirrorless)
