Twitter is likely to mimic Facebook’s edit history

Listen to article

Twitter recently confirmed to be working on an Edit button for tweets, now a report say that it will keep a record of original tweets after then Edit feature is used.

App researcher Jane Manchun Wong found out that tweets remain “unchaged” when edited, instead the platform will create a new tweet containing a different ID.

Just like the edit history on Facebook posts, other Twitter users will likely have access to previous versions of an edited tweet. However, the way the Twitter edit feature seems to work now gives unique identification on each edited tweet.

This also implies that tweets embedded on websites will show the original versions over the edited ones.
