Following the debut of the COMET (City Optimized Managed Electric Transport) e-jeepney in Quezon City, the e-tricycles, also known as the E-Trikebayan, are now plying the streets of Mandaluyong City.
The E-Trikebayan was developed by EV Wealth, a subsidiary of Guevent Investments and Development Corporation (GIDC). These e-tricycles are powered by Lithium Ion batteries and are capable of traveling up to 40 km on a single charge. It has a maximum speed of up to 50 kph and can carry six passengers.
Unlike the COMET e-jeepney that charges via a 220-voltage power outlet, the E-Trikebayan uses a battery charging/swapping model for safe and fast charging. The E-Trike driver just have to visit a battery-swapping outlet within his area and have the depleted battery replaced for a fully-charged one in less than 5 minutes.

Good idea. Pero seriously? Tricycle pa rin? Kng titingnan natin ang automotive industry, sobrang advance ng ng design ng body nla. Sana man lng medyo um-advance n rin tayo. Madaming magagaling na pinoy designer. Sana man lng magamit natin ang ating mga talents.
Vekou X Aitenshi says:
Sa CDRKing meron din! haha
michael b says:
Ayus yan ng mabawasan ang CO2 emissions. Necessary pa din ang trike dahil madami masisikip na daanan dito sa pinas. Atleast gumagawa sila ng paraan to save the environment.Good job.
lol says:
meron din dating e-trikes sa mandaluyong pero adb yung sponsor. mabilis tsaka tahimik. kaso wala na ngayon
Rainbow Rat says:
This goes to show that we are slowly being conscious about the environment – which is good. At least, we start with little efforts in improving our way of life.
Iniisip ko lang kung paano magtatransition ang mga tricycle owners/operators at ano ang mangyayare sa mga units na ginagamit ngayon. I hope the government would find a solution for them and be able to subsidize the overhead costs.
Milhouse says:
Hopefully, they are not as noisy as the ordinary tricycles. Noise pollution is just as irritating as air pollution.
what says:
300k for a tricycle? yayaman ditributor nyan a. Afford ba yan ng tricycle drivers? Prang pwede na pambili ng 2nd hand car.
vm says:
Even without govt subsidy, just like LPG powered taxis, it will prosper or be forgotten on whether or not its cost effective
Justin says:
P315,000 versus a typical tricycle that costs P35,000 for the motorcycle plus P15,000 for the carriage?
Maganda sana yung concept/idea behind it. Kaso the price is just too unreasonable.
Maintenance costs pa… and parts. Good luck selling those.
