LG’s most awaited mobile phone has arrived in the Philippines. The new LG Chocolate (LG BL40) is the 4th handset in LG’s Black Label Series and successor to the highly-acclaimed LG Chocolate (on the top 5 of most sold handsets in the world).

This 4-inch multi-touch screen has a form factor that reminds me of a Hershey’s bar.

The 4-inch screen has a resolution of 345×800 pixels with an internal storage of 1.1GB but can support up to 32GB via microSD card. For connectivity, it has WiFi 802.11 b/g, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1.

For multimedia, it has FM tuner and FM transmitter, a 5 MP autofocus camera (Schneider-Kreuznach optics) with LED flash, Dolby Mobile sound speakers, 3.5mm audio jack and TV out.

The LG BL40 is now being displayed in LG Concept Store in Megamall and has a reported retail price of Php26,000.

i already have this LG chocolate BL40. My only problem is that it doesn’t respond right away. It takes few seconds before it responds. I don’t know if it is because I only put 2gb memorycard n it or what. but I also got 4gb with me. I’ll still try to replace it with the 4gb and I’ll observe if the phone still responds slowly. Mind telling me what might be the problem??

i just saw it in a Girls’ Generation Music Video called “Chocolate Love” it was the official ad of LG bl40 in korea and i was like wow..,

first time on a touch screen phone to have a 4.0 inch wide screen and all of its specs are great.., this phone is perfect and it suits my needs for a phone…

my dad got that as a gift, we opened it up kanina lang. di siya tulad ng ibang phone, while unboxing, actually box palang di na cheap. i held the phone and mukhang solid naman pagka-design, ok din yung screen very responsive and bright. chinacharge pa namin ngayon para matry yung camera. weird lang talaga yung design, ang haba. sana bigay nalang sakin ni erpats… tapos trade in ko sa n97.

One of my barkada has that phone. I find it very intriguing and I want to play with it more before I’d purchase that. Pero napansin ko lang, hindi ganun kaganda yung camera niya. We tried taking pictures sa labas ng starbucks while hanging out (night time). So, ayun medyo minus points na siya sa akin.

Interesting specs 7.2MBps HSDPA, 4″ capacitive touch screen 16M colors, bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, DLNA compatible, 5MP Cam, A-GPS support,WIFI, etc. for very competitive price of Php26T but my concern for me though is OS. LG’s Touch UI is not that good handling 3rd party apps. I don’t know but it’s difficult to connect to simple YM app and even google maps.
