When we visited the Pyung-Taek Factory the other day, we saw a number of laptops and netbooks made by LG and being sold in Korea. Been wondering why LG didn’t brought these units to sell in the Philippines and now I think I know why.

Basically, the reason I think these netbooks won’t be released in the Philippines because they are just more expensive than usual.

Let’s take for example this LG XNote X300 — the 11.6″ super-slim, SSD and Intel Z530 powered netbook (think Sony Vaio X) has a retail price of â‚©1,640,000 (or Php65,900).

This 10-inch netbook (XNote X130) which has a fairly standard Intel Atom configuration is priced at â‚©680,000 (or Php27,325). There’s one with a 3.5G (HSPA) modem in it but didn’t have the SRP.

They also got this tablet-netbook but couldn’t figure out what model and specs it had.

LG is known for a lot of electronic products in the Philippines but the laptop and netbook category is not yet one of them. So, introducing these models might be a little late in the game considering we have like over 2 dozen netbooks in the local market already.

Halu,
I bought an x130 last nov. for 500 SGD, really good, sturdy and reliable. audio volume is just low, but everything else is great considering the price. by the way, the price includes xp home.
