GSIS and OutSystems partner to launch the GSIS Touch Mobile App

OutSystems has just partnered with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) of the Philippines to launch the GSIS Touch Mobile App.

This provides its 2.5 million members and pensioners with easy access to the GSIS’s services while applying for loans and services.

OutSystems, a global leader in high-performance application development, helped develop its Motor Vehicle Processing system and provided the user interface and experience online training for the GSIS project team.

It is noted that it currently has over 506,040 registered users and an average of 25,000 users with also 372,338 loan applications made through the app.

The app itself is said to be further improved by the addition of facial recognition, a payment portal or further integration with other financial institutions, integration with the Philippine ID System for online, real-time Annual Pensioner Information Revalidation, and GSIS Touch as the portal to the GSIS eWallet.

GSIS has made thousands of kiosks available for use nationwide since 2011 and in 2015, they launched eGSISMO.

A web-based system for members to view their membership profile, a record of loans and claims, and tentative computation of their social insurance benefits and the loanable amount online.

GSIS Touch was in part developed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions it imposed.

Since then, GSIS is working on a payment portal integration for loan payments with a partner bank.

“As a government agency that is at the forefront of innovation, we are proud to have been able to launch the Touch Mobile App that is accessible by hundreds and thousands of our members. We look forward to seeing the app become the next major communication and transaction channel of GSIS, allowing more Filipinos to have seamless access to our services without traveling to the GSIS branches or agency offices in the country.” — Juan Philip Evangelista, Senior VP for Information Technology and Service Group of GSIS.
