With the competition heating up from giants such as MediaTek, there is a lot of expectation for Qualcomm to continue evolving its famed Snapdragon line. Well, it looks like the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro chipsets will have something radically different to offer. Here’s what we know so far.

According to reliable tipsters such as Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor could be built on a revolutionary 2nm architecture. While the Samsung Exynos 2600 was technically the first 2nm chipset, this will be Qualcomm’s first attempt at it. A lesser nm number equates to more efficient energy consumption and thermal management.
The 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is slated to possess a 2+3+3 CPU arrangement with clock speeds going up to a blazing 5 Ghz. Taking care of the graphical workload is an Adreno 850 GPU.
Due to that blistering-high clock speed, the 6 Pro is apparently being tested with experimental devices carrying 8,500-10,000 mAh capacity batteries. These efforts to reduce power usage and increase battery size will surely help devices perform at their peak for longer.

Flagship-grade power generates a lot of heat. Left unchecked, this could cause accelerated battery degradation, inconsistent performance, or even component failure. One of the rumored upcoming devices carrying a Snapdragon 8 Elite 6 Pro as its beating heart is also rumored to possess an active cooling fan to keep temps low. This is a feature rarely seen on devices, since usually active fans are attachments rather than built-in.

On the other hand, the base Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 gets slightly lower graphics with an Adreno 845. There are no concrete specifications yet but we’ll let you know once we get more information.

Does anyone proofread those? Where did the “at least 10 000 mah battery” come out suddenly?
