Sun Cellular now offers LTE with 4GB at Plan 999

Listen to article

We just discovered an LTE service to be offered by Sun Cellular along with a postpaid plan and LTE devices. Starting with LTE Plan 999, the service comes with either an LTE stick or LTE pocket WiFi.

The LTE USB modem comes with a cash-out of Php2,800 for a 12-month contract. The LTE Pocket WiFi has a cash-out of Php1,500 but with shorter 12-month contract.

If you don’t want any holding period, the cash-out is Php4,500 for the pocket WiFi and Php3,500 for the USB modem.

There’s a SIM only Plan 999 with no cash-out and just 3 months lock-in.

All Sun Cellular LTE plans come with a 4GB bandwidth allocation.

4GB bandwidth allocation? That’s not even half a day’s worth of data.

They are not replacing your wired broadband subscription.

of the 3 telcos, sun has the slowest internet connection and if you check your IP it is connected to smart network, regulated to a specific speed.

Which is fine. You are limited to around 2Mbps anyway as per indicated on their site. I am on a Sun Broadband postpaid and I get roughly that from Ortigas to Cainta area.

Pare, bibigyan ka ng option sa kontrata kung gusto mong daily, weekly, monthly, o yearly ang 4GB limit. Astig, noh?

It looks like they have switched the pictures based the descriptions below it. The USB modem be the thin one, the wider one should be the pocket wifi.

I guess SUN is just riding on Smart’s LTE facilities that is why it has a data cap but the good thing is it will have the same coverage as Smart. Sana lang wag nang tanggalin ang true unlimited internet on 3G. Saka sana may Windows phone na sa mga free phones hehe

It is using SMART’s LTE service. Sun is pretty much using SMART’s service if its 3G service is not found.
