OPPO Reno14 Pro vs Nothing Phone (3) Comparison Review

Listen to article

We’re doing a head-to-head comparison between two new smartphones, the OPPO Reno14 Pro and the Nothing Phone 3. These two take very different approaches, so if you’re curious about which one fits your style, you’re in the right place.

We’ll break it all down from the design, display, cameras, performance, and all the way to battery and pricing.

Let’s get started.

Design and Construction

Let’s begin with the looks and build. The Nothing Phone (3) is definitely the attention grabber here. It keeps that transparent back design the brand is known for and adds even more functionality to the Glyph lights. You’re not just getting blinking lights for calls or messages. You now get a whole Glyph Matrix for custom widgets, timers, and even mini games. It feels futuristic without being over the top.

On the other hand, the OPPO Reno14 Pro goes for a more refined and premium aesthetic. You get two finish options: Titanium Gray for a more industrial look, and Opal White for a shimmering, iridescent vibe. It’s all protected by Crystal Shield Glass, which is OPPO’s version of Gorilla Glass 7i.

When it comes to durability, OPPO steps it up. The Reno14 Pro has triple IP ratings: IP66, IP68, and IP69. That means protection against dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure water jets. Nothing Phone 3 is also tough with Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68, but OPPO clearly pushes it further.

Both phones feel sturdy and well-built, but since design is subjective, it’s your choice as it depends on whether you want a flashy, techy design or something more elegant and durable.

Display, Multimedia and Biometrics

For the display, the OPPO Reno14 Pro comes with a 6.83-inch full HD+ OLED panel so everything looks sharp and clear. The refresh rate is adaptive at 120Hz, and it can shift down to 60 or 90Hz to save power. There’s also a 240Hz touch sampling rate, which makes the screen very responsive when gaming.

Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone 3 features a slightly smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a full HD+ resolution as well. It also supports 120Hz refresh and can hit a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. That’s incredibly bright and helps a lot when you’re outdoors under the sun.

Both phones have stereo speakers which offer a nice sound stage and are loud enough to fill a room, staying fairly balanced. The bass on the Nothing Phone 3, though, is a bit punchier than the Reno14 Pro’s.

Both provide in-display fingerprint scanners and face unlock. The Reno14 Pro has more touch responsiveness, while the Phone 3 gets the win in brightness. If you’re big on gaming and screen responsiveness, OPPO edges ahead. But if you’re more focused on brightness and a slightly punchier bass, Nothing takes the lead.

Cameras

The OPPO Reno14 Pro comes with three 50MP cameras on the back. You get a main sensor with optical image stabilization, an ultrawide lens, and a periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom. Up front, there’s also a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus.

In bright conditions, photos look solid. Colors come out natural, skin tones look accurate, and the periscope lens lets you zoom in without losing much quality. The ultrawide lens handles group shots and wide scenes well, without too much distortion.

However, not everything is perfect. Some photos taken with the Reno14 Pro can look a little soft, even when there’s plenty of light. It’s noticeable when you zoom in or shoot something with a lot of fine detail. In low-light scenes, the AI can struggle to keep things sharp, and that results in some images that just don’t look as crisp as you’d expect.

As for the Nothing Phone 3, it also comes with a triple 50MP setup. You’ve got a main camera, an ultrawide, and a telephoto that doubles as a macro shooter. In good lighting, the images are detailed and sharp, and colors pop without going overboard.

The tele-macro mode is actually useful and delivers close-up shots that look clean and interesting. The selfie camera is also 50MP and does a decent job, even with tricky lighting.

While both phones are capable, the Nothing Phone 3 produces sharper images more consistently. Whether it’s a wide landscape or a close-up detail, the output feels a little more refined. OPPO holds its own, but the slight softness in certain shots gives Nothing the advantage when it comes to photography.

If taking sharp, detailed photos is a top priority for you, the Nothing Phone 3 is the better pick in this area.

Performance

Let’s talk about performance. The OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450, paired with a Mali-G720 GPU. You can get it with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. That’s a massive amount for a phone in this category.

For daily tasks like social media, browsing, and messaging, it handles everything smoothly. Lighter games like Pokémon Unite or Umamusume run without issues. Heavier games like Honkai Star Rail or Wuthering Waves might show a little lag at first, but OPPO’s HyperBoost tech kicks in and stabilizes performance. Thermals are also managed well, so it doesn’t get too hot even with long sessions.

Nothing Phone 3 comes with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Performance in daily use is solid. Apps open quickly, multitasking is snappy, and animations are smooth.

But compared to other flagship-level chips, it sits slightly below in benchmark scores. It can handle gaming, but heavier titles may push it a bit more. There’s also more noticeable heat during longer gameplay.

Between the two, OPPO has the advantage here for sustained gaming performance and larger storage options.

OS, UI, and Apps

Software-wise, the OPPO Reno14 Pro runs on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. The interface is clean, modern, and packed with customization options. You can change themes, icons, and even transition animations. It also has some handy features like split-screen and floating windows.

The only downside is the bloatware. There are a lot of pre-installed apps right out of the box. You can uninstall them, but it’s still not a great first impression.

Nothing Phone 3 runs on Nothing OS 3.5, also based on Android 15. It’s minimalist, clean, and focuses on simplicity. The Glyph interface adds personality, and it’s actually useful now with features like widgets, timers, and basic games. You also get five years of Android updates and seven years of security patches, which is rare in this price range.

So if you want a UI that’s light and playful with long-term support, Nothing wins here. But if you want more features and customization, OPPO gives you more tools to play with.

Battery and Connectivity

Both phones come fully loaded in terms of wireless features. You’ve got 5G support, Wi-Fi 6 or 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 on the OPPO, and Bluetooth 5.3 on the Nothing Phone. They both have NFC and USB-C ports, and dual SIM support. No major issues with either phone here.

Now battery life is where we see a pretty clear difference.

The OPPO Reno14 Pro packs a large 6,200mAh battery, and in the PCMark battery benchmark, it scored 11 hours and 32 minutes. That’s already a solid result, especially for a device with a big OLED screen and a 120Hz refresh rate.

You can expect a full day of heavy use, or even a day and a half with moderate tasks like social media, video playback, and light gaming. It also supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, which means it tops up really fast.

The Nothing Phone (3), on the other hand, has a slightly smaller 5,150mAh battery. But here’s the kicker: it got 17 hours and 49 minutes on the same PCMark Work 3.0 battery test. That’s a huge difference.

In real life, that translates to a phone that can easily last more than a day and a half, even with moderate to heavy usage. It’s really efficient, and while it doesn’t charge quite as fast as OPPO’s 80W, you’re not going to feel the need to top up as often.

So if long-lasting battery life is at the top of your priority list, the Nothing Phone (3) is the clear winner here. OPPO fights back with faster charging, but the battery endurance of the Nothing Phone (3) is just too good to ignore.

Price and Conclusion

The OPPO Reno14 Pro 5G is priced at PHP 47,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant. Pre-orders are available in Shopee → and OPPO physical stores nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone 3 is already available for PHP 44,999 for the 12GB + 256GB while the 16GB + 512GB is marked at PHP 50,999. Users can check the Shopee →, the Digital Walker website, and Shopee →.

So here’s the verdict:

If you want a phone that looks unique, has a more consistent camera performance, and gives you a minimal interface with long-term update support, the Nothing Phone 3 is worth considering. It does things differently, and for some people, that’s a good thing.

But if you’re after a more powerful all-rounder with better gaming performance, stronger battery life, and faster charging, the OPPO Reno14 Pro is the more practical choice.
