Contest: Take the WU World Network Challenge

This is just a simple contest Western Union is sponsoring in connection with the WU World Network Challenge — to seek out the most globally networked person in the world.

I wrote about it here before back in July. There are currently over 225,000 people who got indexed by WU World but only around 3,000+ are from the Philippines. We wanted more people to visit and check their “Global Network Index” and be counted so we’re running this simple contest.

1) Login to Western Union World (click here) and get your score/index (just need a Facebook account to log in). Keep a screenshot of your score for proof later on.

2) In your Twitter, Plurk, FB or Google+ enter and complete this statement and post it there:

“I scored < your index score > in the Western Union World index. Check out your scores and see how globally networked you are: http://www.yugatech.com/wuworld”.

3) Leave a comment in this contest page with your score and the link to your post. Also answer this question in the comments — “What year did the first money transfer arrived?” You should find the info in the WUWorld microsite.

That’s it! (Note: The log in process may take a while since it indexes all your friends and their country of origin to compute your score.)

We will randomly pick 5 winners from all entries, regardless of index score, each of which will win a Php1,000GC from SM/Sodexho, Rustan’s or Stores Specialist.

Contest starts today and ends on September 1, 2011. Announcement is on the same day as well and will ship it to you anywhere in the Philippines within the week.

Disclosure: I was invited by Western Union to be the “ambassador of sorts” for Western Union World, along with Divine Lee and Carlos Celdran; and were compensated for doing so. Western Union is the prize sponsor for this contest.
