Have you ever wondered why the Xiaomi Mi4 is still not available locally? If so, then allow Xiaomi’s own Hugo Barra to enlighten you with some of the necessary undertakings needed to export their products (even MiBunnies) to a particular market.

In the short video below, Barra explains that Xiaomi had to make minor alterations to their products in order to make it more “localized”, as well as getting a stamp of approval from the government agency of the country where a given product will be sold.
In the case of our beloved country, Xiaomi also had to deal with issues like port congestion and, most importantly, rampant corruption before they can successfully bring their goods in.
