Cherry Mobile just gave LRT-1 commuters a treat as they installed charging kiosks at select stations of the railway system. There’s a catch though, commuters have to use their own USB connectors.

The project is part of Cherry Mobile’s Public service initiative. The local smartphone brand partnered with the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) and PHAR Philippines to bring these charging kiosks at select LRT-1 stations.
“Cherry Mobile, at its core, is all about service and helping Filipino in their daily lives. We wanted
to continuously value their lifestyle and ensure that we are making things easier for them by
installing charging stations that could be of help as they go about their daily commute,” —
Michelle Ngu-Cinco, COO of Cherry Mobile.
The charging kiosks are available at the Doroteo Jose and Central stations. These kiosks are free of charge, provided that commuters use and bring their own USB plugs.
