Facebook Gaming Creator Program to shut down by 2026

Listen to article

The Facebook Gaming Program is officially ending by 2026. This wraps up the platform’s initiative that once competed with the likes of Twitch and YouTube for gaming streamers.

The notice, sent via email, discussed how individual agreements with content creators are ending on October 31, 2025. Further, partner support will be phased out after the date with its full discontinuation by 2026.

With this winding down, Facebook said creators will still have access to monetization tools. That said, Stars and Badges are still accessible until the final date arrives next year.

The email from the Facebook Creators Team also said the move was a significant change for its partners. The move suggests that Meta has lost interest in the gaming industry, while still being wary about creator potential.

Given the news, the company still encourages creators to earn from their fans through subscriptions and other types of eligible content. For those interested, there is now a separate post about the discontinuation of the Facebook Gaming Creator Program available.
