Leak suggests new wireless charging changes for Galaxy S26

Listen to article

A new leak suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S26 series may come with built-in magnets that support Qi2 wireless charging and accessories. The phones are expected to launch early next year.

Tech site WinFuture found retailer listings showing Samsung is preparing a new magnetic wireless charging dock, called the Samsung Magnetic Wireless Charger, with the model number EP-P2900. The charger supports 25W wireless charging and works with Galaxy S phones, Galaxy Z devices, and Galaxy Buds.

The leak supports earlier talk that Samsung could add magnets directly to the Galaxy S26 phones. However, this charger alone does not confirm built-in magnets in the devices. Samsung has already released Qi2 chargers with magnets before, but users needed a phone case with magnets to use them properly.

Still, the new charger shows Samsung may be moving toward more Qi2 MPP chargers, similar to Google, which recently launched the PixelSnap charger for the Pixel 10. The Pixel 10 phones are confirmed to have integrated Qi2 magnets.

There are also reports that the Galaxy S26 models may get faster wireless charging. The S26 Ultra is believed to reach 25W, while the S26 and S26 Plus may top out at 20W.
