Alcaltel Android Sale starts tomorrow!

Alcatel is holding a nationwide sale of all their Android smartphones starting tomorrow and until September 16, 2012. Check out the poster for details of the discounts below.

You can visit any of the Alcatel kiosks in any malls to get discounts on their handsets. I’m seeing at most Php2,000 discount on their OneTouch 995 Sapphire HD.

  1. Has anyone tried rooting these phones? Has it worked? :-)

  2. seems all of these smartphones are pre-ICS – 2.3 Android in fact. Looks like Alcatel will update, if not release new phones with ICS. Just wait and see.

  3. I have the sapphire for 2 weeks now. Got it from their SM Megamall kiosk for 11990 12mos 0% installment. Ok naman yung phone but you have to replace the pre-installed 3D launcher, eats up a lot of RAM. Some are pointing to that as the cause of random reboots. Haven’t experienced it so far. Decent battery life, nice big screen, dual cam with flash, responsive and zippy enough. Upgradeable daw to ICS, sabi-sabi sa Sept. daw.

Alcatel is not new in telecoms, recently lang sila nagiging aggressive sa android offerings nila. I think android somehow levelled the playing field in the mobile phone business. It is now owned by TCL, dati Lucent.

Hirap lang sa unpopular brand walang mabiling accessories.

    • My very first phone, back when I was in highschool, was alcatel… It was decent enough.

I agree though with Arkita na ngayon lang sila naging aggressive sa pag push ng products nila.

It does seem na they have something up their sleeves (wishful thinking) kaya sila unti unting nagpaparamdam.

Not sure though pero they used to have sturdy built unlike what is available now in the market…

    • what launcher did you replace it with? usually go launcher ginagamit ko to replace any phone’s stock eh laki rin kumain ng ram un

    • @Jp:Maybe mas aggressive sila ngayon because of the opened opportunity and new management. Sa China nga yata under TCL brand na nila ni-release ang Sapphire, TCL A998. Dont know if they will eventually shift to that brand name in all markets. Ang mas high end na unit na sana ilabas din nila dito at reasonable yung OT-986, 1.5GHZ dual core, 1GB RAM.

@Von: I initially installed Zeam Launcher, mabilis and doesn’t eat much RAM. From having just 30-60 remaining naging 100-120+ RAM ko. Kaya lang na-miss ko yung notification, locker and screen edit lock ng Go (SGY experience) kaya nag-shift ako to Go. Minsan minsan bumababa pero not as often and as bad as with the One Touch launcher.
