A closer look at the Vivo V17 Pro’s six cameras

Smartphone design has drastically changed over the years. Screens are getting larger, bezels are getting thinner, and chipsets are becoming more powerful. The cameras are no exception, and we’re now seeing not one, not two, but six cameras in a single phone. One example of such a device is the Vivo V17 Pro. Let’s take a closer look.

Before we get started, the Vivo V17 Pro’s shooters consist of four rear cameras and two front cameras. It’s uncommon in smartphones, even in flagship devices. So, it’s a bit impressive that Vivo decided to implement this in a mid-range device.

Starting with the rear, we have a 48MP primary shooter that handles the heavy lifting. That’s a high-resolution Sony sensor with a 1/2-inch size, so you’ll still get detailed images even if you crop the image. If you want to shoot in low-light, it has an F1.8 aperture to capture more light. It also uses embedded AI algorithms, including AI Super Night Mode, to make sure each photo is optimized to fit the subject.

Next is the 8MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view and F2.2 aperture. If you like taking group photos or want to capture more of that pretty scenery, then having an ultrawide lens will make it easier for you to do just that.

For portraits with creamy backgrounds, the V17 Pro has a 2MP depth/bokeh camera with F2.4 aperture. And if you want to shoot subjects up close, there’s also the 2MP macro camera with F2.4 aperture and 4cm focus.

Vivo is known for its selfie technology, and they took it to the next level by equipping the V17 Pro with two front cameras. It has a 32MP primary shooter with an F2.0 aperture for that high-resolution selfies. It even has a Super Night Selfie feature that combines multiple frames for clean and brighter selfie photos in the dark. And if you want to take group selfies, then the 8MP F2.2 ultrawide can handle it.
