vivo X200 FE: Top 3 Features We Like from the First-ever Compact Telephoto Flagship

Listen to article

vivo’s newest flagship is here and it brings back something we’ve been missing in recent years: a true compact flagship. Meet the vivo X200 FE. It’s got a flagship-grade chip, capable ZEISS cameras, and a solid battery life all packed in a small package.

So, if you’re looking for a new daily driver that fits comfortably on one hand without compromising on performance, then look no further, the vivo X200 FE ticks all the right boxes.

That said, here are the top three things we really liked about this phone that we thought you should know about.

1. Compact design, superb display

The very first thing to note is the phone’s sleek and compact build, which offers a snug fit both in hand and in pocket. It’s lightweight at just 186 grams, and the small frame provides a comfortable grip despite its flat-edge design.

The overall aesthetic leans toward minimalism, with color-matched elements throughout. Our unit comes in the Blue shade, featuring a matte back and a color-matched metal frame delivering that premium look and feel, as it should.

You’ll also notice the oval-shaped camera lens outlined in a matching color.

It’s got an enhanced durability as well, featuring both IP68 and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as military-grade drop resistance for extra protection.

Flip the phone over, and you’ll find a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a crisp 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It peaks at up to 5000 nits of luminance making the screen more visible under the harsh sunlight.

Thanks to ZEISS Color Master Display, it features high frequency PWM dimming (at 2160Hz) and SGS Low Blue Light Certification. So, it’s more comfortable for your eyes when binge watching your favorite shows and movies using the vivo X200 FE.

2. Flagship telephoto imaging capabilities

Now, vivo is known for offering excellent camera experiences with their devices, and that definitely holds true for the vivo X200 FE.

Notably, this is the series’ first-ever compact telephoto flagship, boasting a 50-megapixel ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera (with OIS support), which is the same sensor used as with the standard vivo X200. This can do 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

It’s complemented by a 50-megapixel primary shooter with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and yet another 50-megapixel sensor for selfies.

We’ve had the device for a few days now, and when it comes to camera performance—so far, so good.

Images captured in well-lit environments deliver solid quality, and surprisingly, night shots also turn out impressive.

Other notable imaging features include Stage Mode, which helps you capture clear and sharp shots during lively concerts. There’s also ZEISS Multifocal Portrait Mode, allowing you to shoot portraits at various focal lengths (from 23 mm up to 85 mm) adding versatility and depth to your shots.

Of course, there’s integration of AI tools to assist users getting the perfect shot such as AI Magic Move, Image Expander, and Reflection Erase.

3. Solid battery life despite its slim size

With such a small chassis, you might expect the phone to come with a small battery. Well, vivo does the exact opposite and throws in a massive 6500mAh BlueVolt battery paired with 90W of FlashCharge technology. The vivo X200 FE surely pulls ahead, offering the largest battery and fastest charging in its size category.

Spoiler alert from our review: the phone lasted 20 hours and 39 minutes of runtime in our PCMark battery life test, and that result far exceeds our expectations.

Surely, with that level of battery life, there’s no more battery anxiety. Users can do everything they want without constantly worrying about running out of power. And if the battery does run out, downtime is minimal, as it takes less than an hour to fully charge the device.

Additionally, even when the battery is down to just 1%, vivo claims it can still deliver up to 5 hours of call time or around 3 hours of YouTube playback.

vivo X200 FE: Small and mighty

The three highlights we mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg. There’s plenty more to explore with this new compact flagship in our full review. So, keep an eye out for that!

But honestly, those three reasons alone already make the vivo X200 FE a compelling choice. It’s packed with flagship-level features in a sleek, compact body—all the while not being as expensive as other flagships from the big companies like Apple or Samsung.

The vivo X200 FE is priced at only PHP 44,999 and comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, offering good value in this price range. You can get it now in vivo physical stores nationwide or online via vivo website.

Wrapping this up, the vivo X200 FE strikes the perfect balance between power and portability. It’s a truly refined flagship built for high performance in a compact form.
