Epson EcoTank L11050 Review — All-around home and office printer

Whether you are still working-from-home or staying at the office half of the week, you’ll be needing a new reliable printer that can easily be managed and support your various printing needs.

For most people, that means a colored printer that can handle different sizes of paper and print volumes before you’d notice you ran out of ink.

Once such printer is the Epson EcoTank L11050, a robust A3 ink tank printer designed for high-volume and versatile printing needs, making it ideal for both professional and personal use.

Yes, this printer can handle A3+ (or 12.95 x 19.02 inches), A3, B4, A4, A5, A6, B5, B6, Letter, Legal, half Letter, various photos sizes (3R and up) as well as envelops.

The L11050 can therefore produce large-format outputs such as CAD drawings, posters, charts, and technical illustrations that exceeds the limitations of standard A4 printers.

The rear-feed tray accommodates various media types, including thick paper, photo paper, envelopes, labels, and more, allowing users to tackle diverse printing tasks.

The printer isn’t too big, measuring 498 mm × 358 mm × 165 mm and weighing 6.4 kg, the printer is 40% more compact than its predecessor (Epson L1300), making it suitable for small office spaces.

The L11050 has this PrecisionCore Printhead Technology that ensures sharp and vibrant prints with high resolutions up to 5760 dpi.

It can also deliver fast printing speeds: about up to 15 ipm for black text on A4 documents and up to 3 ipm for color A3 prints (IPM: Images Per Minute). Not only that. The integrated ink tank system supports up to 4,500 black pages and 7,000 color pages with Epson’s genuine ink bottles, significantly reducing printing costs compared to traditional cartridge printers. That’s a lot. Exactly 23 reams of paper in total!

That’s one of the more obvious benefits of using an ink-tank printer. With the high volume of print-outs, the math will tell you that the printer very cost-efficient.

Another cool feature with the L11050 is that it comes with Wi-Fi Direct and compatibility with the Epson Smart Panel app, users can wirelessly print, clean the print head, and monitor printer status from their own mobile devices. Considering that there are multiple users of the printer in the office, wireless printing is such a hassle-fee option.

The Epson EcoTank L11050 excels in delivering high-quality prints at low operational costs. Its ability to handle A3+ formats makes it a versatile choice for businesses like photo studios and print shops or individuals who need large-format outputs. The PrecisionCore technology ensures consistent print quality while maintaining speed.

However, it is a single-function printer (print-only), which may limit its appeal for users seeking scanning or copying capabilities in one device. Additionally, while it supports duplex printing manually, automatic duplexing is not available.

Verdict

A printer can be considered an appliance if it has a specific purpose at home and used by everyone in the family. At a price of approximately Php 22,495, the Epson EcoTank L1150 can be a serious investment.

The Epson EcoTank L11050 is best for small needing cost-effective high-volume printing as well as Creative professionals requiring large-format prints.
