It’s already April and it’s time to look back at the gadgets we reviewed last month. We have the ROG Strix Scar II, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Samsung Galaxy S10+, Realme 3, Vivo V15 Pro, and OPPO F11 Pro, to name a few. Check out our Gadget Reviews Roundup for the month of March 2019.

ASUS ROG Strix Scar II (GL704GV)

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar II is a great gaming laptop which delivers fast and powerful performance. Aside from its solid and premium build, it is also very stylish and beautiful thanks to its RGB lighting on the logo, keyboard, and the LED strip down at the bottom part of the chassis. Gamers, especially people who are into first-person shooter games, will definitely love this gaming laptop since it has a 144hz refresh rate display with 3ms response time.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is an enticing offering note solely because of the specs but because of the price. It has a nice design and display, good cameras and performance, and a long battery life. If you’re buying in the Philippines, we recommend getting it from Mi Authorized Stores to for a Global ROM and to get an official warranty.

Samsung Galaxy S10+

It’s hard not to ignore that Samsung has done very well with the Galaxy S10 series this time and the Galaxy S10+ is a testament to that. The polished design, impressive performance, and up-to-spec camera system are all on-point, not to discount that they bumped up everything from the RAM (up to 12GB) and the storage (up to 1TB) to insane proportions. Samsung is indeed showing its might and saying it has not run out of ideas yet.

ASUSPRO P5440UF

The ASUSPRO P5440UF is one heck of a very light and thin ultrabook that can handle productivity tasks well but at the same time capable enough for some light gaming. It has a plain design, but the premium build makes up for it. The fingerprint scanner is a neat addition to the ultrabook and provides an accurate and fast recognition time which is excellent. I would’ve liked it more if ASUS also implemented a touchscreen feature on this laptop to give a better service for users who want to have a tablet-like experience.

Realme 3

If you’re going to set aside its HD display, you’re getting one solid device that’s rocking a power-efficient chipset, Android Pie out of the box, and a good set of cameras for a helluva affordable price. To our relief, we are glad to see that there is a brand other than Xiaomi that produces competitive phones at an affordable price.

Avita Liber 13

The Avita Liber 13.3? is by no means a laptop to be overlooked. It has an eye-catching design, an impressive display, and an acceptable performance. It does have a hefty price tag of PHP 54,990 though, so it’ll be difficult to sell this to the average consumer. Still, do keep the Avita Liber in your choices as it’s portable and gets the job done.

Vivo V15 Pro

Vivo is a company that is known for bringing flagship features to the less expensive mid-range segment, and the V15 Pro is another proof of that. If you’re really in need of the immersive screen, pop-up cameras, and 8GB of RAM without having to spend much for a flagship, then this one is the one to get.

MSI PS42 8RB

With the amount of time I had with the MSI Prestige PS42 8RB, I do believe that it’s a step in the right direction for MSI to target more business-focused and oriented consumers. My problem is, it isn’t perfect, and sure nothing’s perfect but it’s the little things, like the not so ideal build quality, and the lows lacking in the speaker department. The PS42 is priced at PHP 76,995, which is quite competitive but on the more pricey end of the spectrum.

OPPO F11 Pro

The F11 Pro doesn’t look cheap at all, believe me, it looks even better in person. You get an awesome edge-to-edge display, good battery, great cameras for photography, smooth security, and a balanced performing phone that can handle most of what you throw at it. However, for a phone with a forward-looking design, it’s still a bit of a shame to see that micro USB port and the lack of any 4k video recording. Maybe they’ll improve this in the next upcoming smartphones. But so far, we still like this phone.

HP Pavilion x360 Convertible

The HP Pavilion x360 Convertible is gorgeous, elegant, and impressive. There’s bound to be a couple of people who will be awed at the 360-degree folds and flexibility this laptop could do. Not to mention, it also makes lives more convenient by being a laptop and tablet in one. There’s a slight issue with the lag between pen and the tablet, but we’re confident that it can be fixed by calibrating the pen better. It’s premium, light, gets the job done, and worth considering.

Honor 8C

The Honor 8C is a beautiful smartphone in terms of design. It has decent performance and camera quality, and long battery life which is good for people who don’t bring power banks with them. Its drawback, however, is that its display is only HD+. Overall, for the price of PHP 7,999, it’s okay to get this device if you are more into aesthetics, but if you’re looking for something better, there are other options out there.

Huawei Y Max

The Huawei Y Max is something that we would consider a next-gen “phablet”. Even though smartphones are going for 6-inch screens, the Y Max’s 7.12-inch is still quite a handful. Still, it looks good thanks to the faux leather design and slim bezels. Some may not like it, and that’s okay, but those who are looking for something great for binge-watching on Netflix or YouTube or for playing games, will find this device perfect.

ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DY

As much as I wanted to give my full insight into the ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DY, but due to certain constraints like its Hard Drive issues, I cannot do so. Nevertheless, the gaming laptop’s design is premium while I also like its slim side bezels. It also has a high refresh rate panel that I love since I am into first-person shooter games and it is uncommon to get one at this price range. The laptop’s price is at PHP 39,995 which is a good value for people who are looking for a capable budget-oriented gaming device with a high refresh rate.
