TECNO has announced improvements to their proprietary Universal Tone technology. Along with this, TECNO has confirmed that the CAMON 40 line is arriving at MWC 2025 on March 3rd.

For those that aren’t familiar, Universal Tone aims to deliver the correct representation of people with varying skin tones. TECNO reflects this through photos taken by their cameras. With that, they’ve announced that they’re improving it through an expanded color card.
The update includes refinements through 372 patches to their imaging engine responsible for the skin tones’ color reproduction in portrait photos. The first devices to implement this are the upcoming CAMON 40 series.

The update’s expected to improve results for people residing in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. The improvements will also include a refined skin tone rendition algorithm and more white balance accuracy.
Wrapping up, TECNO says that they’re working on developing a more inclusive and comprehensive database representing a wide range of global skin tones.
