Vivo has formally announced their next camera-centric flagship smartphone in China last night — the vivo X300 and the vivo X300 Pro.

The vivo X300 series is among the first smartphones to be powered by the latest Mediatek Dimensity 9500 chipset.
For the X300’s main camera, vivo has selected the same HPB large bottom sensor used in X300 Pro’s telephoto camera, converting it into a 200 MP ZEISS Main Camera with a 1/1.4-inch large sensor, an f/1.68 aperture, and CIPA 4.5-Rated Image Stabilization.
This gives the vivo X300 a 200MP-50MP-50MP configuration while the X300 Pro comes with a 50MP-200MP-50MP configuration. A very curious decision but is something that further convinces us it’s not in the megapixels but the size of the sensors (1/1.4″ vs. 1/12.8″).

(Note: Also a bit confusing that the X300 only comes with dual band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.4 while the X300 Pro has tri-band WiFi and Bluetooth 6.0 despite having the same chipset.)
For the main camera, vivo X300 Pro comes with a LYT-828 sensor, jointly defined by vivo and Sony. It has a large 1/1.28-inch size and incorporates vivo’s self-developed VCS 3.0 technology for more accurate color rendition. Paired with a newly designed optical module, it has a 24mm equivalent focal length and a large f/1.57 aperture.
The telephoto features a new 85mm ZEISS APO camera using a HPB large bottom sensor, co-developed by vivo and Samsung.
It features 200 MP and a 1/1.4-inch large sensor, representing Samsung’s advanced high-resolution sensor technology and is equipped with a f/2.67 aperture and ZEISS T* Coating, and holds the ZEISS APO certification.
Both the main and telephoto cameras support 4K @ 120fps Dual-Channel EIS, plus 4K @ 120fps 10-Bit Log video recording across all focal lengths.

No word yet as to when the X300 series will be released in the Philippines but we’re confident it could be before December with an almost similar pricing as the X200 series.
