YugaTech Laptop Gift Guide 2019

Christmas is in the air! With only 29 days left till the big day, I’m sure a lot of you would like to see a big box under the tree. For people who are looking to give or receive a laptop this season, then this guide is for you. We’ll be breaking them down by prices of under PHP 30k, PHP 60k, PHP 100k, and over PHP 100k.

Acer Aspire 3 A315

To start the list, we have Acer’s budget laptop, the Aspire 3 A315. It features a 15.6-inch HD display, AMD Ryzen 3 2200U CPU paired with Radeon Vega 3 graphics, 4GB of RAM, and a 1TB HDD. While it did cut corners in terms of display and battery life, the included processor and 1TB storage make this a good entry-level laptop. Asus X509FJ HT831T

The Asus X509 is Asus’ entry-level laptop that has a 15.6-inch 768p display, Intel Core i3-8145U processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX 230 GPU, 4GB of RAM and a 1TB HDD. If you’re keen on having a bigger screen and a numpad, then this laptop might be the one to get. The base model retails for PHP 32k, but PCHub offers it for PHP 26,990USD 460INR 38,990EUR 438CNY 3,349 if you buy with cash.

Lenovo S145

The Lenovo S145 is a great starting laptop with an Intel Core i3-8145 processor, NVIDIA MX110 GPU, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of fast SSD storage. The only downside is that our model has a TN 768p display, but more expensive models are equipped with a 1080p panel. Prices start at PHP 18,995USD 324INR 27,440EUR 308CNY 2,357, while our model costs PHP 28,495USD 486INR 41,164EUR 462CNY 3,536.

Huawei Matebook 13

The Huawei Matebook 13 is a powerful ultrabook that features a 13-inch 1440p IPS display, 8th generation Intel Core-i5 processor (up to Intel Core i-7), NVIDIA MX 250 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Currently, there are two variants available at Silicon Valley.

Lenovo IdeaPad L340

While the IdeaPad L340 is advertised as a gaming laptop, it’s stealthy enough for users to be able to bring it anywhere, from classrooms to office meetings. It’s a great choice for people looking for that extra juice for productivity or gaming workloads alike. It sports a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display, Intel Core i5-9300H CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 1TB HDD. It’s priced at PHP 49,995USD 852INR 72,223EUR 811CNY 6,204 when we reviewed it back in July.

Dell G3 15 (3590)

The Dell G3 15 is Dell’s entry-level gaming laptop that was launched in the Philippines last October. It sports a 1080p WVA display, up to an Intel Core i7-9750H, up to n NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660ti, 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB SSD. It’s slim, making it portable for everyday use and can handle a lot of games out today. The price of the base model starts at PHP 46,990USD 801INR 67,882EUR 763CNY 5,831.

Lenovo IdeaPad S540

The Lenovo S540 is a great all-rounder laptop that would make an excellent gift for students and professionals. It’s equipped with a 1080p IPS display, Intel Core i7-8565U, NVIDIA Geforce MX 250, 12GB of DDR4 RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G

If you want to give a gamer a new laptop that features a high refresh rate 1080p display and hardware to handle it, then this might be the laptop for them.
