A leak has surfaced saying that Qualcomm’s upcoming top-of-the-line SoC for flagship smartphones, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, will launch earlier than when the Gen 2 debuted last year.
According to WhyLab, as reported by NotebookCheck, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will likely launch in October, compared to the mid-November launch of the Gen 2 a year earlier.
While this may not seem like exciting news, it does mean that smartphones that will carry the all-new chipset may be coming earlier than expected as well.
One such smartphone might be the Xiaomi 14.
In the same report, WhyLab also provided details on the alleged launch of the Xiaomi 14. They claim that Xiaomi’s upcoming 14 line may be the first set of smartphones to carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and that they may launch in China earlier than the 13 did as well.
Specifically, WhyLab says that there is a chance that the Xiaomi 14 series launches in China around November.
The leak comes on the heels of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro’s global launch just a few hours ago, but it is to be expected since tech companies and brands plan their product releases months or even a year before release.
