Qualcomm is reportedly planning to unveil its next-generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, ahead of schedule. Performance Enhancements Leaked benchmarks suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will offer substantial performance improvements over its predecessor. The inclusion of the Adreno 840 GPU, clocked at 1.35GHz, marks a notable step up from the previous generation.  The accelerated launch timeline appears to be a strategic move by Qualcomm to align with the anticipated release of Apple’s iPhone 17 series, which is expected to debut in September 2025. As more information becomes available, consumers can look forward to a new generation of Android devices powered by Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful chipset to date. Qualcomm has officially unveiled its latest premium mid-range chip, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4—positioned as a more affordable alternative to the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite. Built on TSMC’s N4P 4nm process, the new chip skips Qualcomm’s custom Oryon cores found in the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite, instead using the older Kryo CPU architecture. 1x Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 3.2GHz 3x Cortex-A720 cores at 3.0GHz 2x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.8GHz 2x Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz Qualcomm claims this configuration delivers a 31% performance boost over last year’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while reducing power consumption by 39%.
