The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), through its eGovernment Office, has opened pre-registration for eGovHackathon 2026, a two-day innovation event that aims to gather developers, designers, startups, and tech innovators to build digital solutions for government challenges.

Set to take place in Metro Manila on July 21 to 22, 2026, the eGovHackathon 2026: Collaborative Solutions for a Better Philippines will bring together participants from across the country to design and develop solutions that can help improve public service delivery.
According to the event description, the hackathon is open to software developers, programmers, designers, tech experts, startups, and other technology enthusiasts interested in solving real-world government problems through digital tools and platforms.

DICT said participants will compete in teams of five, with each member required to register individually through the official platform. Teams with incomplete registration or fewer than five registered members will be disqualified. Finalists will be notified through email, while the final event mechanics will be shared separately with selected participants.
The agency is positioning the event as a venue for Filipino innovators to showcase their skills, collaborate with other teams, and build solutions that could create a broader impact on public services. Promotional materials for the event highlight goals such as collaboration, nationwide recognition, and turning ideas into solutions for millions of Filipinos.
Pre-registration for eGovHackathon 2026 is now open, although DICT has yet to disclose the full mechanics, challenge categories, prizes, and final event venue details. The agency said more information will be announced soon.
