Forgot to say… battery life is excellent with Wifi switched on… am doing 6+ hours at least right now. So I have used it in tablet mode for reading ebooks, web browsing, etc over the holidays. With the 4GB memory, I am able to run VirtualBox running Ubuntu (with my work tools running), Android-Froyo and WinXP virtual machines with the host Win7 64-bit still usable for web, e-mail and some MS Word work.

How does the battery life last on 1825ptz compared to 1810tz..? does it still give the same result having the touchscreen display..?

This is a definitely a good buy. This is not an ultra speedy laptop (not netbook slow though) but hey it’s got a two-point touch capacitative screen and got enough disk space. It doesn’t come with a stylus though. I’ve been using acer for years now and I’ve got 2 units already. So far, I’m a happy customer, especially with this machine :)

Hi,

How’s the handwriting recognition and palm rejection? I’m choosing between this, the lenovo ideapad and if I get kuripot bigla, the Asus EEE. But I watched a video earlier that the Asus doesn’t work too well given those 2 issues. Just wondering how this works as a tablet. Thanks for your reply.

@darkgame

the intel CULV processors are way faster than their ATOM counterparts.. check Abe’s review of the Acer 1810tz. It’s basically the same machine but this one converts into a tablet.

@Ryan Ang

Thanks for the suggestion,

The thing is
Intel Pentium SU4100 @ 1.3GHz Dual Core of acer
VS.
Intel ATOM Processor N470( 1.83GHz 667MHz 512KB )
of Lenovo

Which is better?
i think that’s were the last thing i’ll research before doing the decision..

@darkgame

that depends really on how you will use your machine. If you need more power then the Acer might be better for you. The extra real estate might also help.

I guess Lenovo if you want portability.

I was really waiting for this one to arrive or at least be available somewhere. The handwriting recognition of win7 is just astounding not to mention that this is a more capable machine than the Lenovo S10-3t.

But just got an iPad so i’m just hoping for a great journal app to be released soon. (as consolation haha)
