At CES 2020, Lenovo has officially announced its thinnest gaming laptop yet; the Legion Y740S paired with their eGPU solution, the Legion BoostStation.

The Legion Y740S sports a 15.6-inch IPS display that covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. It has 500 nits of brightness, VESA certification, and a 60Hz refresh rate sitting on a 180-degree hinge. Powering the Legion Y740S is a 10 Gen Intel Core processor (up to an i9) paired with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. It also features Lenovo’s new thermal design with a five-point sensor array and four fans to help keep the machine cool.

Lenovo also revamped the keyboard from previous generation Legion laptops. It now has 100% anti-ghosting, more ergonomic key size, and redesigned switches. The keycaps are also treated with an anti-oil abrasion coating. Despite weighing only 2Kg and the new thin shell, Lenovo has kept its array of IO, including a Thunderbolt 3 port to connect to its eGPU solution, the Legion BoostStation.

The Legion BoostStation is made of aluminum, with mesh front and sides that features a 100% tool-free design, and weighs only 8.5Kg.

The Lenovo Legion Y740S has a starting price of USD 1,099.99 with a configure-to-order model so buyers can choose which variant they need. The Legion BoostStation eGPU, on the other hand, starts at USD 249.99, and will also be offered as a bundle with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700XT GPU. They will both be available in North America starting in May 2020.
