Globe offers free Facebook access to subs

It started with Twitter, now Globe announced that they’ll also offer free access to the Zuckberg-owned social media account starting on October 31.

The free FB access doesn’t require any SMS subscriptions. All there’s left for a Globe subscriber to do is logon to m.facebook.com using their smartphone’s browser.

As long as you don’t click on an outbound link, the service will not incur additional data charges to your load or postpaid bill. However, if you did click on an external link, you’ll immediately be notified about the charges which, in the case of an out of load prepaid sub, can be deducted on the next top up (10MB for Php10).

Globe’s free Facebook access is slated to begin on the 31st of this month and and will run until January next year.

Auko ng free data!!!! Paano stop using freedata?? Kkairita! My wifi nmn bkit kelangan p ng free data! Kya nga gumamit n ng wifi! Qng alm q lng my ganito globe ngtyaga n qu wifi ng kpitbahay. At un dati n pldt wifi. Dami dami dapat iclick sa facebook pra ma view mu ng auz using diz free data. Haixsst! Hindi nagaapear un stop using facebook free data. Auq ne2.

I’m trying to figure out din kung pano i-disable yun sa FB app. Instead of just going straight to the browser when I tap a link, dadaan pa sya sa isang dialogue screen asking me if I wanna get an unli data package. It’s annoying as hell.

Finally found how to disable the darned thing.

Go to Facebook.com/free and click on Stop Using Facebook for Free, and hit Confirm.

thanks.. cause I’m already unli-internet anyway, but I accidentally clicked on the free link, and now it’s telling me it’s going to charge me if I go out of facebook mobile site..

I want to disable as well since I have unlidata. It notifies me about data charges if I click a link. Its just annoying everytime.

may nakalagay naman na u’ll be notified na may charge pag pumunta ka sa outbound link,so, nasa user na un kung tumuloy siya. .but still for me panloloko yan, kasi kung talagang free, wala na dapat paliligoy,magset nalang sila ng apn na free. .tapos!

Doesn’t work well if you have regular load on your phone. Once you enable data connection on smartphones, it automatically charges you 5 pesos for 15min. Free facebook is mostly useful for non-smartphones or keep your Globe prepaid with just 1 peso load to enjoy free facebook.

Nakaka-free FB ako sa laptop ko. Gamit ko yung tattoo 3g sim sa broadband stick.

Ang dami kong link na na-click kahopon pero di naman bumukas yung external site. Ma-charge pa rin kaya ako pag nag-load ako?

hugutin mo ung sim ng broadband stick mo tapos tapon mo na sa kanal. kasi pag nag load ka, kakainin nila agad. haha

Hi Diana! I think you can. I was able to access free fb either on smart or sun using my ancient nokia 5310 xpressmusic. :)

What if the subs is on Unlisurf plan, will Globe still incur charges on top of the monthly bill?

if naka unlisurf na ang subs then hindi na sya ma charge on top of the monthly bill, applicable lang to sa mga hindi naka unlisurf and still want to check their fb account.

just launch it on the browser and not on the app itself

“in the case of an out of load prepaid sub, can be deducted on the next top up (10MB for Php10).” – correct me if i am wrong, if i clicked a link that opens another site, and it uses up 10 pesos worth of data, and i have no balance at the moment; the next time i load worth 20 pesos, my load gets deducted 10 pesos automatically? can’t they just not load the website in the first place? as the post above says, it’s a trap!

alam mo naman siguro na once binuksan mo ang mobile data mo, lahat ng app mo tulad ng fb messenger, viber, kakao talk, line, wechat, etc eh magtritrigger ng outbound request para mag fetch ng data. pwera nalang kung may i-provide silang ibang APN na strictly domain lang ng fb ang maaccess. pero dahil PWEDE ang outbound link, ibig sabihin pwede ang request to other domain. kaya nganga ka pag nagkataon.

sa ibang bansa tulad sa Africa, libre ang facebook pero text only via . sana pati dito sa Social Media capital of the world tulad ng Pinas, libre din.
