You can now reserve a Starlink satellite internet in the Philippines

Starlink has sent out emails to interested users in the Philippines allowing them to reserve and put down a deposit for future services.

This has put Starlink as an official internet service provider in the Philippines, albeit it will be delivered in 2022. The reservation puts you on a list when you put down a $99 deposit (this is refundable).

Earlier, Converge ICT has been reported to be in talks with Starlink for a partnership to offer satellite broadband. However, this report has been dismissed by Converge as being too premature.

As it turns out, Starlink can directly offer their service in the Philippines without a local partnership and this email detailing a reservation is merely the first step. We will soon find out as we already put out a deposit for it.
