Stardew Valley

NBA 2K
Does this game need any further introduction? NBA 2K has been the prime basketball simulation video game of this generation. Featuring realistic graphics, a multitude of teams spanning across decades, and various game modes, it’s a must-play if you’re a basketball fan.

The Quarry
This is a game for people who can’t fully decide if they want to watch a movie, or play. It’s a cinematic thriller interactive game written as the sequel to the hit title Until Dawn.
It’s a teen slasher plotline set at the eerily peaceful Hackett’s Quarry. You need to keep your eyes peeled for clues, make critical dialogue choices, and perform Quick Time Events before the characters suffer a grisly fate. What’s especially cool about it is the fact that every decision, no matter how tiny, impacts the ending you’ll get. The dynamic nature of storytelling here is impressive.
The characters are cast by star celebrities Brenda Song, David Arquette, and others. Need we say more?
Black Myth Wukong
Over the past decade, the graphical intensity of games has grown tenfold. GPUs have spiked in power and gamers are now playing on extremely-high resolution, refresh rate monitors that have become more accessible.
Despite these raised modern-day expectations, Black Myth Wukong is hailed as one of the most beautiful pieces of art sans games in existence today. Its fluid animations, breathtaking graphics, and incomparable rendition of Eastern mythology all built on Unreal Engine 5 left oohs and aahs from gamers, gaining it awards as well.
The gameplay doesn’t disappoint either. You play as “The Destined One,” a monkey warrior retracing the steps of the legendary Sun Wukong to recover lost relics and uncover the truth of his downfall. You’ll be facing demons and other fierce opponents in your quests. It’s an experience in and of itself – just make sure your PC specs can take it.
Cyberpunk 2077
This game is the very definition of a redemption story. Hype was unreal following its launch in 2020, but Cyberpunk 2077 was plagued by so many technical glitches and issues, leaving day-one gamers disappointed.
Thankfully, the developers have completely turned the game around. Through constant updates, revamps, and overhauls to the game’s core systems, it is now widely recognized as a masterpiece.
The vision was an open-world experience that teleported you into a dystopian view of 2077. It’s messy, gritty, with the rapid advance of technology existing side-by-side with a hyper-realistic view of what could happen should things go wrong. It took a bit of time but the developers have truly achieved that. So.. if your goal is true immersion, then Cyberpunk 2077 is a title you can’t afford to miss.
Left 4 Dead 2
We felt that it was only right to bring up a classic. You’ve played this. Probably at an internet cafe in the mid-2000s. If you haven’t, you’re missing out on one of the most fun zombie shooter video games in history.
It’s a simple plot: four survivors must fight through a zombie apocalypse through several creatively-designed stages. Having your friends play with you online is a milestone experience. Since the game is 16 years old, it will run on literally almost anything. Even an office laptop with a potato GPU.
If you want something to play with your friends, this is truly a gem. But if plot is so important to you, the Resident Evil games (from the terrifying first-person dread of RE7: Biohazard to the high-octane RE3 Remake) are also available in the IGV Game library.
Overcooked 2
Friends over at your house? Chaotic fun? Look no further than the gold standard of local multiplayer of the decade: Overcooked 2!
You must save the Onion Kingdom by travelling across magical lands and satisfying the Unbread’s (villains’) hunger. It’s a frantic culinary simulation where up to four players must work together to serve a variety of recipes under extreme time pressure. Sometimes, the kitchen layouts will have characters navigate portals, rafts, and jump up floors.
It will test friendships. It will test communication skills. But that feeling of reward after completing a level with your friends, who are by your side? It’s unmatched.
Civilization VI
This is more high-level than anything else on this list. You are an architect of history – almost like an omniscient being that can control humanity’s progress.
It’s a massive, turn-based strategy “4X” game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate). You manage city-building, scientific research, and complex diplomacy. Victory can be achieved through military conquest, scientific advancement, or cultural influence. It’s addicting to see everything you’ve built and strategized turn out the way you want it to.
Unlike everything else, this is more CPU-intensive than GPU. Still, it will run on most modern systems.
