Nokia X3-02 Touch & Type Review

Listen to article

Used the phone for 6 months until it was stolen. It’s the best phone for non-tech savvy.

1.) It’s easy to use. Yes the keypad with the number 0 and the # sign on the right can be a hassle at first, you can adjust to it in minutes. It’s like when QWERTY phones emerged for the first time, you will get over it. You can also multitask. With the buttons for the FM and Text messages physically present on your keypad, you can easily text or change your FM radio or mp3 music while online or whatever activity your doing with your phone without having to leave it.

2.) The audio is clear. You can hear the voice of whoever you are calling without any difficulty.

3.) It is thin and light. It fits any hands.

4.) It’s durable. for the past 6 months I have been dropping it here and there and it never stop working perfectly. I wasn’t using a screen protector and it never had any scratch as well. I dropped it while walking in a gravelled pavement at it’s still okay.

The bottom line is, it is a phone. If you want a phone that will work and will allow you to call and text and probably do some other things, it’s the one to choose.

It isn’t a smartphone and it can never be compared to them, but as a phone, X3-02 is awesome.

Bought a dark blue unit last December 2010 with a price of 8.4k. I am tempted to buy a smartphone, but with its basic function. It can almost do anything. FB, Twitter, Youtube, Mails etc.

this phone is a failure if you’re a power txtr. They changed the layout of the keypad which makes it difficult for you to readjust again. Don’t get this one if you’re a txtr.

Don’t get this phone! Seriously! It’s easy to use and all, but…

Got it from Globe about a month ago and had the battery then the unit itself replaced because the phone can’t detect if the battery is fully charged.

Over two weeks ago (three days after the second replacement), the phone died and it won’t turn on anymore.

Right now, I’m still waiting for Globe to call me to replace the phone but still no word from them… Don’t expect me to pay the bill!

To save you from all the hassle, just get a different model! Better yet grab a phone from a different manufacturer!

found a solution with the battery… but i have to turn off the cellphone while charging… used to charge it everyday, now the phone can be placed on stand-by for 2-3 days without charging… at least its an improvement…:p

This looks like a nice pocket phone. Slim and light. And I hear it comes in white. Will it prove to be reliable and durable?

Even with it’s shortcomings, I’d buy one. I’ve been using Touchscreen smartphones with different form factors and different screen sizes for years. And has been making my phones compete with my laptop/netbook. But sometimes you just need a phone. :)

i like it already. with that price, i also dont expect much, but it gives you the basic phone functions, access to email, FB and Twitter. plus the small form which i miss from the old Nokia8850.

the keypad arrangement seems odd (the *0# keys are moved to the right).

its about time Nokia added that USB on the go functionality (given even S60 3rd and even 2nd can play video).
