Sony Airpeak drone officially unveiled

Sony Corporation has officially unveiled at CES 2021 the Airpeak drone designed for aerial photography and videography.

The Airpeak drone project was first announced in November 2020, but it was only today that it was fully revealed. Sony says that the Airpeak aircraft is part of its drone project in the area of AI robotics. Sony says that the Airpeak is the industry’s smallest class of drones that can be equipped with the Alpha system. It is capable of dynamic filming and precise, stable flight.

Specs were not revealed but we can see that it’s a quadcopter equipped with multiple cameras and sensors, aside from the mounted Alpha mirrorless camera. See it in action in the video below:

As part of the first phase of the project, Sony will also launch a new business targeted for professional photography and video production in the spring of 2021.
