Live streaming app Tamago has announced that it will close down in all markets by December 31, 2018.
Tamago is a popular live streaming app in Southeast Asia and is used to broadcast live content like concerts, celebrity streams, and esports tournaments. It even partnered with eGG Network for the Filipino coverage of The International 2018 (Ti8) to Dota 2 fans in the Philippines.
As for its closure, Tamago only said that its business “has been challenging” and that it is “commercially unfeasible” for them to continue operating under the current circumstances.
Tamago’s streaming and viewing capabilities will still function until December 31, 2018, but buying of T-coins will cease immediately.
For streamers’ earnings, it will pay out gifts received before December 8, 2018. Any gifts received after that date will not be paid out as Tamago is winding down its operations and going through its closure process.
Leftover T-coins, on the other hand, will not be refunded and users are encouraged to spend all T-coins on gifts. Gifting, however, will continue until December 7, 2018, only.
