A Guide to Vivo’s Y Series

For budget-conscious buyers, Vivo has a lineup of smartphones that won’t break the bank. Introducing, the Vivo Y Series. From the Vivo Y53C to the latest entry, the Vivo Y17, all have their key differences but offer pleasing performance at affordable prices. Check them out!


The most affordable in the Y series with the price of PHP 5,990, the Y35C features a 5-inch screen, with a 960 x 540 resolution, FHD+ Super AMOLED display. It comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, expandable up to 256GB, an 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP front shooter.


With a display sizing up at 6 inches, the Y71 carries 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB of storage expandable up to 256GB, and has about 3,360mAh battery capacity. With a battery life extending longer than the Y53C, the Y71 also levels up its camera by having a 13MP rear shooter and a 5MP selfie camera with AI Face Beauty. Released in April 2018, the Y71 currently has a price tag of PHP 6,999 for its 2GB model, while the 3GB variant is priced at PHP 8,990.

Y85 / Y81


The Vivo Y85 and the Y81 have a couple of similarities between but also, the two devices have key differences. The Y85 packs more punch with its 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras, 8MP front camera with AI Beauty, all running on Helio P22. As for the Y81, it pretty much has the same specs as the Y85 but has 3GB RAM, a single 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. The Y81 is priced at PHP 7,999, while the Y85 has a tag of PHP 10,999.

Y95 / Y91 / Y91i

Released in November 2018, the next devices in the Y lineup aren’t that much different from each other. All three are powered by Snapdragon 439, have the battery capacity of 4,030mAh, and have dual-rear cameras. The key difference between the three devices lies in the RAM and internal storage. The Y91i has 2GB RAM + 16GB storage for a price of PHP 6,999. With 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, the Y91 is tagged at PHP 6,999 while its 64GB storage variant has a price of PHP 9,999. Last but not least is the Y95, equipped with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, priced at PHP 12,999.


The newest member in the Y series, the Y17 moves past its fellow devices in the lineup, having a 6.35-inch HD+ display with Helio P35 powering it up. It comes with 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a hefty 5,000mAh battery capacity. Different from the previous devices in the Y lineup, the Y17 features a triple rear-camera setup, composed of 13MP main + 8MP wide-angle + 2MP depth shooters. It’s certainly a step up from the single and dual rear cameras that the other devices in the series carry. As for the front camera, the Y17 house a 20MP shooter inside a drop notch. With the largest battery capacity and four cameras in total, you can snag the Y17 for a price of PHP 12,999.
