Alcatel has just launched one of its latest offering for the Philippine market. Like with most mobile brands, Alcatel knows that longevity on the road is a major selling point for budget consumers. The longer the battery life, the better. To satisfy that, they have the Pixi 4 Plus Power – an Android smartphone with a 5,000mAh battery.
To start, the handset has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and Asahi Dragontrail Glass for protection. At this size, HD is stretched to a less satisfying 267ppi of pixel density. On the good side of things, there are fewer pixels to power thus more juice for the road. It’s got three capacitive keys for UI navigation below the display and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a dedicated LED flash above.
The whole body of the phone is made out polycarbonate including the side keys on the right side for volume and power/lock.
The bottom end has the microphone and the micro-USB port for charging. According to Alcatel, the phone supports fast charging but since it has a large cell capacity it would take 4 hours to fill it up. Hopefully, they’ll include a compatible charger out of the box.
The top side has the 3.5mm headphone jack for your audio needs.
The phone’s back sports a textured back with an exciting pattern. Aside from the pictured black variant above, the phone comes in multiple colors with different accents so you can take your pick. The rear camera is a 13-megapixel sensor accompanied by a single LED flash. The loudspeaker sits at the lower back.
The back panel is removable although the battery is sealed tight. Here you’ll find the Dual-SIM slot and the microSD card slot for storage expansion. Internally, it has a 1.3GHz quad-core MT6580 processor paired with just 1GB of RAM. Its storage is also a bit low at just 8GB with 3.5GB available memory as per specs listing. Also, it offers 3G connectivity only.
