Xiaomi Mi A1 received a beta version of Android 8.0 Oreo this month, and today, Xiaomi announced an over-the-air (OTA) stable update for Android 8.0 Oreo.
We’re ending the year with an O! #MiA1 users, stay tuned as we’re rolling out your long-awaited update in batches but make sure you’re already on the latest December update (7.12.19) to receive Android O! pic.twitter.com/GhRtDnyJn4
— Mi (@xiaomi) December 31, 2017
Android 8.0 Oreo brings with it many back-end changes as well as user-oriented features such as app optimisations, better battery management algorithms, notification channels, notifications dots, the Google Play Protect malware system and picture-in-picture support for applications. The update is 1107.4MB in size and still has Android security update for December, 2017 and not the January update that was available with a recent beta. You can check out this thread if the OTA update is not yet available on your device.
