Apple launches service program for iPhone 6s, 6s Plus with “no power” issues

Apple has announced that it is launching a service program for select iPhone 6s and 6s Plus units that refuse to power on.

The company stated that the issue could be due to a component that may fail. The selected units affected by the issue were manufactured between October 2018 to August 2019. Users may check the serial number of their iPhone 6s or 6s Plus via Apple’s dedicated page to determine if their devices are affected.

Once checked, consumers may bring in their devices to an Apple Authorized Service Center and staff will have the iPhone examined and to verify if it’s eligible for the repair program. Users must back up their data before bringing the unit to the service center. Additionally, if the iPhone has any damage that hinders repair completion, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the service and there may be a cost associated with it.

Apple has also stated that no other iPhone models are part of this service program. If a user’s iPhone 6s/6s Plus has been affected by the issue and they previously paid to have the display repaired, users can contact Apple about a refund.
