A report by 9To5Mac 26 and Supercharged claims that Apple is set to announce new iPad models with upgraded chipsets within the week as soon as Tuesday, October 17.
The models expected to be refreshed are the iPad Air, iPad mini, and the base model iPad with most upgrades expected to be spec and processor updates rather than drastic design changes.
They also claim that the announcement by Apple will be made via press release rather than through any live event.
It’s expected that the iPad Air will feature the updated M2 chip while the iPad mini and base model iPad to pack in the A16 Bionic chip.
There’s also a rumor that says the new iPad mini will have a new display controller to lessen the effect of jelly scrolling which has been known to be an issue on the current 6th generation iPad mini.
Other reports state that an updated Magic Keyboard and 3rd Gen Apple Pencil are also to come. However, there are no reports suggesting that Apple will release any new iPad Pro models this time.
