A report by 9To5Mac and Supercharged claims that Apple is set to announce new iPad models with upgraded chipsets within the week as soon as Tuesday, October 17. The models expected to be refreshed are the iPad Air, iPad mini, and the base model iPad with most upgrades expected to be spec and processor updates rather than drastic design changes. It's expected that the iPad Air will feature the updated M2 chip while the iPad mini and base model iPad to pack in the A16 Bionic chip. There's also a rumor that says the new iPad mini will have a new display controller to lessen the effect of jelly scrolling which has been known to be an issue on the current 6th generation iPad mini. However, there are no reports suggesting that Apple will release any new iPad Pro models this time. Along with the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple has also unveiled their new 9.7-inch iPad. An Apple event is coming this month and we are expecting some good news to finally end all the rumors about future Apple devices. While the tagline "Let us loop you in" doesn't reveal much, a new iPhone, the iPhone SE, that will be the same size as the iPhone 5 but with better specs, is expected to be announced as well as a new iPad that supports the Apple Pencil.
