7 Best Features of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom

The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom will soon launch in the Philippines. Unlike the mid-range Reno, the 10x Zoom model is a flagship device and sports a Snapdragon 855 chipset and boasts an impressive zoom range. Is that all the Reno 10x Zoom has to offer? Find out below.

6.6-inch Panoramic Screen w/ Gorilla Glass 6

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Reno 10x Zoom is the screen. It’s large and immersive thanks to the 6.6-inch AMOLED Panoramic Screen with Full HD+ resolution. It doesn’t have a notch like most smartphones today and boasts an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93.1%. It has really thin bezels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. So if you’re fond of watching videos or playing games, the Reno 10x Zoom can provide you with an excellent viewing experience.

Beautiful design

Flagships smartphones are already expected to feature beautiful designs but the Reno 10x is something else. OPPO used a proprietary matte blasting technique with selected gloss detailing to create a seamless design. The back of the phone uses a combination of finished layers within the glass underlay to create an iridescent color that changes depending on the lighting. They even placed a ceramic O-Dot with a hardness of 8.5 Mohs at the back to raise the back of the phone to protect it from surface marks.

Premium flagship hardware

What we’re talking about here is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, which is the company’s current flagship SoC and includes the Adreno 640 GPU. It is offered in 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.1. So whether it’s photography or gaming, the Reno 10x Zoom can certainly handle it.

10x Hybrid Zoom w/ 60x Digital Zoom

As the name suggests, one of the main features of the Reno 10x Zoom is, well, zoom. But let’s take a look at the cameras first. What we’re looking at is a 48MP main camera, a 13MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP wide-angle lens. This lens combination makes the Reno 10x Zoom a versatile shooter but OPPO takes it up a notch when it comes to its zoom capabilities. Using its periscope telephoto lens with dual OIS and EIS, it can shoot blur-free images at 10x hybrid zoom and up to 60x digital zoom, beating competitors when it comes to zoom ranges.

Rising front camera

Earlier we talked about the Reno 10x Zoom’s immersive display. And this can be attributed to the rising module with a wedge design that houses the receiver, front-facing soft light, and the 16MP F2.0 front camera. If you’re worried about is durability, OPPO said that it can withstand over 200,000 uses and employs a drop protection mechanism that can sense in real time when the phone is in free-fall and automatically retract the camera to prevent damage.

Triple cooling technologies

The Reno 10x Zoom employs three different cooling technologies: cooling gel, triple graphite layering, and copper pipes to manage the device’s temperature effectively. Under the same circumstances, the cooling system in place can lower the device’s temperature by 13%. Additionally, AI Ice Box Intelligently stops apps which have been inactive for a while. This saves power for longer battery life.

4,065mAh battery w/ VOOC 3.0

The Reno 10x Zoom is equipped with a newer and better VOOC 3.0 that uses the latest VFC algorithm, increasing trickle-charge efficiency. The charging speed is increased by 100% at the trickle charging stage. With VOOC 3.0, it is safe to game and charge at the same time. And given the 4,065mAh battery, you can be sure that the Reno 10x Zoom can handle heavy usage and make it through the day.
