So you think the CloudFone Thrill 430x is a tank with its 4,160mAh battery? Better think again as it’s about to be blown away by the Changhong Z9, an Android smartphone that carries a massive 5,000mAh “power bank”.
You might have encountered the brand Changhong before as they are also manufacturers of affordable TVs. The Changhong Z9 is reported to feature a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display or 267ppi, an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and of course, the 5,000mAh battery.
Powering the device is a MediaTek MT6589 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2Ghz, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.2 Jellybean. Another notable feat here is that the Z9 managed to maintain a relatively thin body at 9mm (the CloudFone Thrill 430x sits at 14.2mm) even with its large battery. That should raise some eyebrows.
As of the moment, the Changhong Z9 doesn’t appear to be official yet but if it comes out then the Z9 easily dethrones the 430x in our top list of smartphones with huge batteries.

Changhong is known for affordable Audio-Video products. I used to have a DVD player, under the Rainbow brand, but still Changhong.
Compared to the dozens of China brands – Ahoo, Hug, etc., the unit was better. Here’s hoping that this Droid’s price won’t be as huge as the battery.
