Last year, Google announced a lightweight version of Android Oreo, a.k.a Android Go, which is built to run smoothly and efficiently on entry-level devices that only have 1GB or less of memory.
At MWC 2018, which is happening next week, we will see the first set of Android Oreo (Go Edition) phones get unveiled. An example is the upcoming Nokia 1, which is expected to arrive at the event.
Android Oreo (Go Edition) comes with lightweight versions of some standard apps such as YouTube Go, Files Go, and Maps Go. It will also have its own Play Store that shows apps optimized for Go Edition.
