Holiday Gift Guide 2018: Smartphones above PHP 50K

Christmas is just around the corner and a lot would be anticipating their bonuses so they can upgrade to the most recent and most powerful smartphones. So for this gift guide, we’re starting with the most expensive of the bunch with prices starting above PHP 50,000.

The phones listed below are those that are released in 2018 and are officially available in the Philippines. The list is arranged by price from lowest to highest.

Apple iPhone XR

First up is the iPhone XR which is one of the three iPhone models that Apple announced in September. It sports a 6.1-inch screen, an Apple A12 hexa-core Bionic chip, a 12MP rear camera, a 7MP front camera, a Face ID, a dual-SIM support, an iOS 12, and a 2,942mAh battery. It is priced at PHP 50,990 for the 64GB, PHP 53,990 for the 128GB, and PHP 60,490 for the 256GB.

Samsung Galaxy S9+

Next is the Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S9+, that was announced in February. It features a 6.2-inch display, an Exynos 9810 octa-core CPU, a 6GB RAM, a dual 12MP rear cameras, an 8MP front camera, an iris scanner, an IP68 body, and a 3,500mAh battery. The S9+ is priced at PHP 52,990 for the 64GB, PHP 55,990 for the 128GB, and PHP 60,990 for the 256GB. You can read our review here.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Launched in the Philippines in August, the Galaxy Note 9 is Samsung’s ultimate flagship smartphone for this year. It has a 6.34-inch screen, an Exynos 9810 octa-core CPU, an up to 8GB RAM, an up to 512GB storage, a dual 12MP rear cameras, a 8MP front camera, an iris scanner, a heatpipe cooling, an IP68 body, an S-Pen, a built-in Samsung Dex, and a 4,000mAh battery. Apple iPhone XS

Apple topped the Note9’s pricing with the iPhone XS, sporting a 5.8-inch screen, an Apple 12 hexa-core chip, an up to 512GB storage, a dual 12MP rear cameras, a 7MP front camera, a Face ID, an IP68 body, a dual-SIM support, an iOS 12, and a 2,658mAh battery. The iPhone XS is priced at PHP 67,990 for the 64GB, PHP 77,490 for the 256GB, and PHP 90,490 for the 512GB.

Apple iPhone XS Max

Apple is not done with their expensive offerings and has the iPhone XS Max for those who want a larger 6.5-inch screen and a 3,178mAh battery. Apple is charging a premium price of PHP 74,990 for the 64GB, PHP 84,490 for the 256GB, and PHP 97,490 at 512GB. This makes the iPhone XS Max the most expensive smartphone in the Philippines.
