HTC Desire 22 Pro unveiled w/ Snapdragon 695 5G SoC, Viverse compatible

HTC, after ages, announced its newest offering—the HTC Desire 22 Pro equipped with a mid-range processor, Snapdragon 695 that is 5G capable, 6.6-inch LCD display at 120Hz refresh, and 4,520 mAh battery.

The device comes with HTC Viverse compatibility that promises users easy access to the Metaverse via its HTC VR headset like the HTC Vive Flow. It also has direct access to HTC’s own Viverse Wallet where users can manage digital assets including NFTs and crypto.

The HTC Desire 22 Pro, design-wise rather looks outdated with its plasticky, patterned back panel, and that thick chin. HTC recently shifted its focus on virtual reality, and Desire 22 Pro is seemingly just an attempt to keep their smartphone business that’s barely alive.

Pricing and Availability

HTC Desire 22 Pro is now available for pre-orders in Europe for GBP399 and its expected dispatch will be on August 1st.

Meanwhile, HTC has yet to announce its availability to other markets. They will start open sales in Taiwan on July 1st.
