HTC Desire X, budget ICS phone announced

HTC has announced a new budget or mid-range phone in the name of the HTC Desire X. The handset sits between the recently release Desire C and the dual-SIM Desire V.

HTC Desire X specs:
4.0-inch SLCD @ 480×800 pixels
Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon 1.0GHz dual-core
Adreno 203 GPU
768MB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD card
3G/HSDPA
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS with aGPS support
Android 4.0 ICS
1650mAh Li-Ion battery

The HTC Desire X should arrived in the Philippines sometime late in September or early October. HTC did not indicate the retail price but considering the Desire X is somewhere in between the Desire V and the Desire C, we are looking at a price range of under Php15k.

  1. It has a price tag of $388 (current conversion = P16,296) + taxes. Camera can only record up to 480p (720×480), no front facing camera, lack of app storage (only 2 GB accessible for apps). Ugh. Why HTC ?!?! I can get the Galaxy Nexus for $12 more. And oh, what happened to releasing FEWER phones ? You CAN end up like Blackberry for all we know. If the price is right though, this can attract buyers. If not, they can get the XPERIA Sola for P11,200. End of.

    • + outdated OS version. Should’ve gone with Android 4.1 (JB). Psst, the Galaxy Nexus is only $349 (not $400).

  2. The battery is very dismal compared to lenovo p700 and this is a bit expensive though its processor is better. How’s the battery life here considering low capacity battery and a dual core processor???

  3. Even the Samsung Galaxy 2 epic touch has better specs than this

    • Why would you compare a flagship device with this mid-range phone ?

    • Because he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

  4. Because the s2 is an old phone. Any new phones should have at least those specs. This is a step back. La+ you’re an idiot

    • You should consider the price before comparing. Samsung Galaxy S2 (High end) vs. HTC Desire X (Mid End). Seems you’re the idiot not them, :P

  5. No one is forcing you to buy a phone which does not meet your expectations.

Phil! You are an idiot! #shameonyou
