The HiSilicon Kirin 810 is the latest premium mid-range chipset that Huawei has to offer this year. They launched the Huawei Nova 5i Pro a few days ago, and its specs are looking good for a mid-range device. Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, also released the Honor 9X Pro that sports the same chip and this means one thing for us — specs comparison time! Which one is the better pick? Find out below!

Here are the advantages of each smartphone:
Starting with the display, the Honor 9X Pro is larger than the Nova 5i Pro. It also sports a full-screen display which is ideal for a better viewing experience. People who are fond of watching or streaming videos and movies can opt for the former over the latter. The hole-punch camera design of the latter is quite distracting as this aspect is relatively new to the consumers.
Powering both the devices is the Kirin 810 chipset, which is the successor of the Kirin 710. We’ve yet to test out the CPU and gaming performance, so we’re hoping to get our hands on it very soon. They are at par in this aspect given that both of their highest RAM configurations is 8GB.
In terms of cameras, both phones have almost the same rear camera set up except for the Nova 5i Pro’s dedicated macro lens. This is a welcomed feature since it can do macro shots, which is nice to have. As for the front shooter, Huawei’s contender also takes the cake with its higher front camera resolution. Although, this doesn’t mean that it will be automatically better when it comes to having better photo quality. We’ll know more once we get our hands on both smartphones.
For battery, they both have a 4,000mAh capacity, but the Nova 5i Pro has the upper hand in this aspect thanks to its fast-charging capability. It is also apparent that it will have a longer battery life due to its smaller screen size.
Here are the prices of each smartphone:
If you are into the new punch-hole camera design, a dedicated macro lens, and fast charging, choose the Huawei Nova 5i Pro. However, if you are aiming for a phone with better viewing experience and wants a more affordable Kirin 810 smartphone, go with the Honor 9X.
