The update will come as the EMUI v5.0 which is the company’s UI skin on top of the Android OS. It will reportedly be available for download in Q1 of 2017 and will first roll out to Huawei Mate 8 and Huawei P9. The P9 Plus, P9 lite, nova, and nova Plus will follow suit shortly after.

Huawei claims that the new EMUI 5.0 will be more efficient in processing tasks as well as more user-friendly and secure. It will also take fewer steps to accomplish tasks as reported by GSMArena. These, among other improvements, are soon coming for users of the aforementioned devices.

Stay tuned as we wait for the official roll out.
