Itel Vision 3 Hands-on

Early this month, Itel Mobile has launched its Vision 3 smartphones in the Philippines. It’s a budget-friendly smartphone but with a large 6.6-inch HD+ screen, Unisoc SC9863A chipset with an octa-core CPU, and a large 5,000mAh battery. Check out our initial thoughts about this device below.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Itel Vision 3 is the size, which is understandable given the size of the screen. It’s tall but Itel managed to keep its frame relatively narrow so it can still be easily gripped.

The 6.6-inch IPS screen has an HD+ resolution, which actually looks sharp even for a screen of this size. Colors look natural although the viewing angle is not that wide as you will notice it dimming when viewed from a different angle. There are bezels surrounding the screen but good thing they’re not too thick. Above the screen is the 5MP selfie camera in a Waterdrop notch. Then placed above that notch is the earpiece.

Take a look on the right side and you will see the power/lock and volume buttons. They’re made of plastic, but they’re firm and clicky. We like that the button placement is near the middle so they’re easy to reach with one hand.

One the left is the card tray that can house two nano-sized SIM cards and a microSD card.

Down below are the 3.5mm audio jack, main microphone, micro USB port, and loudspeaker.

Flip it on its back and you will see the dual rear camera module with an 8MP main, LED flash, and the fingerprint scanner.

From this angle, the Itel Vision 3 looks eye-catching It has this textured finish that produces a light effect similar to rays of light. It comes in three colors, Multicolor Green, Sky Blue, and Deep-Ocean Black, which is what we have now.

When it comes to the quality, the Itel Vision 3 is mostly plastic but it’s solid yet light, even with its large battery. As mentioned earlier, it’s still easy to grip, thanks to the curved sides at the back. Although textured, for some reason it can still attract fingerprints and smudges. Good thing there’s a clear case included in the package.

Powering the Itel Vision 3 is a Unisoc SC9863A chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at a maximum of 1.6GHz, IMG8322 GPU, 2GB or 3GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, ItelOS 7.6 based on Android 11, and 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Again, it’s entry-level but it’s affordable that it won’t break the bank.

The Itel Vision 3 2GB + 3GB model is priced at PHP 3,999, while the 3GB + 64GB is at PHP 4,699. Nice options for light users who want something affordable but have a big screen and battery capacity.
