Lenovo A60 Android phone lands in the Philippines

Listen to article

Lenovo Mobile has just announced their very first phone (and an Android for that matter) in the country — a Gingerbread-touting, entry-level smartphone called the Lenovo A60.

This is the first time we’ve actually heard of Lenovo going into the mobile market in the Philippines.

Lenovo A60 specs:
3.5″ HVGA display @ 320×480 pixels
MT6573 ARM11 650MHz + MT6162 ARM9 400MHz
PowerVR SGX 531
256MB RAM
512MB ROM
220MB internal storage
up to 16GB via microSD
3G/HSDPA
WiFi 802.11 b/g, WiFi hotspot
Bluetooth w/ A2DP, EDR
GPS with aGPS support
3.2MP rear camera
0.3MP front-facing camera
FM radio tuner
Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread
Li-Ion 1500mAh battery

Oh wait — it’s dual-SIM too! Dual-standby, that is.

The suggested retail price is Php7,990. The specs doesn’t really inspire a lot of awe, especially that low-res screen. The specs aren’t verified so they might change as we dig for more info. Will get more details and update this once we get them.

Lenovo a60 seems to be a decent phone for just 7-8k but i choose LG Optimus One instead. This is my first Android. I kinda suspect the support for Lenovo phone. LG though not great is good enough. The way Lenovo customized the UI is too much which made me go for LG. I hate Samsung cheapo droids, the screen is so awful.

Hi @blue

So far yung lenovo ko di pa masyado.

soon to be released daw atleast mas cheaper kesa sa galaxy note ng samsung tried and tested naman na ang lenovo so i think i might go for that 5 inch na phoneblet

Lenovo a60 vs cherry mobile stellar. Lets Get It On!!!

Hi @kangkongcornick Thank you sa help! :) Binasa ko kahapon yung review nung link na binigay ni @papichulo169 it seems like di nya binasa maigi ang specification at lalo na yung forum. wala sa kanila nag sabi ang spice at cherry mobile ay iisa actually mukhang yung “spice” ay parang cherry mobile or torque or myphone sa ibang country di ko lang sure kung saan pero ang currency nila is “RS” anyway na mention din dito sa review ang lenovo at sinasabi na kinopya ng spice ang design ng lenovo a60 at na mention din na china made ang phones ng spice or something to that effect. Ang point ko lang @papichulo169 di ako nag hahard sell or nagpopromote ng phone. sinasabi ko lang ang naexperience ko sa lenovo at tinutulungan ko lang mag decide ang mga purchasers. like sa sinabi ni @kangkongcornick meron sya stellar at lenovo and it seems ang cherry is laggy tulad ng sa orbit na nabasa ko before ko binili ang lenovo a60. with this information it would help purchasers kung ano ang dapat nila bilhin. andito lang tayo para mag guide at di manira o magmagaling. Once again @papichulo169 wala nag mamagaling dito lahat dito ay nagsasabi ng experiences nila sa phone na binili nila at tinutulungan ang mga buyers kung ano dapat ang para dapat sa kanila like sa sinabi ni @kangkongcornick: kung cherry mobile ang gusto mo then dun ka. which is true! wala ako sinabi na pangit ang cherry mobile at wag kayo bumili. and most of all basahin mo mabuit yung pinost mo na link kasi wala talag dun ang aka cherry mobile na sinasabi mo. sigure in design meron sa iba sa listahan pero like what i said yung spice na yan eh mukhang china phones na binebenta sa ibang country din under the guise of spice nga lang. anyway @kangkongcornick check mo pala isang product ng lenovo na lefone at p70 maganda din specs nya tapos maglalabas daw sila ng 5inch na phoneblet parang galaxy note ng samsung….parang gusto ko din yun!
…Merry Xmas! hehehe :)

Eto pa link ng lenovo a60: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/100919/211088696-504698545/Lenovo-A60-3G-WCDMA-GSM-Dual-Sim-Quad-band-Android-2-3-Wifi-GPS-SmartPhone-with.html So it shows na lenovo a60 is from lenovo and cherry mobile phone: http://tv.com.ph/buzz/cherry+mobile.html has their own design and hard ware specifications. Point is that marami diversities ang mga android phones na ito especially kung mga China manufactured or made phones kasi alam natin lahat na pwede nila ikopya and design at capabilities ng kung ano mang brand ng phones, gadgets, etc.By the way kung nagustuhan nyo lenovo a60 meron din sila upgraded version nito which is lenovo p70: http://www.etotalk.com/lenovo-p70-3g-wcdma-dual-sim-android-23-mt6573_p2718.html at lenovo lephone: http://www.etotalk.com/lenovo-lephone-mini-a1-32abo-3g-wcdma-dual-sim-android-23-msm7227t_p2829.html at ang review nito is: http://techably.com/2011/12/lenovo-lephone-s760-android-phone-features-specifications/ at eto pa ang link of list of released lenovo brand phones: http://askhideki.com/tag/lenovo/ So my point is ang cherry mobile has their own list of different android mobile phones while lenovo has their own as well. so nasa inyo na which brand to buy since nag post na ako ng lists of specifications and brands kayo ng mamili which one to choose. Like yung sinabi ko before of course kung gusto nyo tried and tested phones go for the high end branded phones like HTC, Samsung, LG, Sonyericcson and so on and so forth. Any questions mention nyo nalang ako sa Twitter.

Hi @Josh i don’t exactly know what these people are saying, i am using both samsung galaxy phones;P1000 and P9000, and the UI almost looks just the same. Though some settings were made different but still it works exactly the same, of course specification wise…samsung is better. Thats where some of the applications come in. Some are compatible some are not, all because i think of the processor or the make of the phone. Tho most of the applications i installed like papaya, viber, fring, pingchat, mau mau works on the phone. I installed also an application to change its UI and it works and looks ok. So i think some of those who are saying that it looks like China phone maybe just maybe they didnt really purchase and never tried the product. I say its perfectly fine for me…well if they come up with a five inch screen dual sim phone then i would certainly go for that than this. :) Plus lenovo are also makers of laptops and pc’s! And i have read they’re one on the top list in making good computers. Up to you though if you want to buy it or not or just go for samsung or lg or any make of android phone.

Hi! I am using one right now for days now and it’s working good and fast for me. We all know that the specs aren’t that good but hey…it’s only 7999.00 for a dual sim android phone. I installed my usual applications like kindle, fring, viber, papaya farm and its working ok for me. I was looking for a dual sim android for awhile and i saw a cherry mobile dual android for Php 9999.00 which is more expensive than this one i got, i checked the review and specs and i have found out that there were lots of people dissatisfied with it. Good thing i saw this lenovo A60 or else i would have regretted the day i bought that cherry mobile.

The phone runs 2.3 version with 3.5in HVGA Capacitive Multi-Touchscreen. It has built-in Android Market to download tons of apps. It also supports flash player. The phone also has a built-in Portable WLAN Hotspot which can share internet connection up to 5 wireless devices. Cool!

The question is if the specs is enough to support flash. I doubt, because of it can, it would be the cheapest phone to offer full android experience. next would be SE xperia mini.

I think it is possible. It’s the same case with the first gen archos tablet. for efficiency maybe, the smaller cpu will take the lighter activities. I think they can’t work simultaneously as a 1Ghz++ processor though.

Specs of the phone is actually decent. with that price, it is in the same league of SE X8, Galaxy Mini, Nokia 500. This one got a dual-sim, so I guess its the best entry level android phone ATM.
